Sunnyside Seniors Services Wins AdvantAge Ontario Capital Project Award

Congratulations to Sunnyside Seniors Services – the inaugural winner of AdvantAge Ontario’s new Capital Project Award – for its innovative Intergenerational Playground Space project.

We were thrilled to present the award to the Waterloo-based organization at the AdvantAge Ontario celebration on September 21. Sunnyside Home’s Intergenerational Playground Space project transformed an existing outdoor playground into a vibrant and engaging environment where people of all ages and abilities can come together to enjoy the outdoors. After removing the old playground equipment, the organization developed the space with residents’ and the community’s needs in mind. The new playground includes permanent greenspace, a wheelchair-accessible playhouse, flower boxes, shade structures, decorative fencing, seating and even musical instruments. Now, dozens of residents and their families use the space daily to visit, play games, sing and relax.

We applaud Sunnyside Home for its innovative and inclusive approach to this project, which the community will enjoy for years to come.
