Halifax Regional Municipality's (HRM) real estate portfolio consists of 376,000-sq.ft. of office space with high annual occupancy costs. We were engaged to review HRM’s nine core office and administration facilities, and to develop an accommodation plan that the municipality could implement over time. Through the analysis of the financial and operational standing of HRM’s facilities, both owned and leased, a five-year roadmap was formulated. The accommodation plan optimizes the use of owned spaces and includes an implementation plan to evaluate space utilization on an ongoing basis.
