The New Central Library was a 5-year project designed by architectural firm Snøhetta in collaboration with DIALOG. Named as one of Architectural Digest’s 12 Most Anticipated Buildings of 2018, the new library is a 240,000 sqft building where a fully functional Light Rail Transit Line crosses through connecting Downtown and the East Village.
The Calgary Public Library system is actively used by over half of the 1.2M population. The four-floor building was designed to work as an integrated space to facilitate an experience based on Calgarians needs, whether it be co-working, studying, or attending a kids’ function.
The New Central Library project began in 2013 and was completed on November 1, 2018. Colliers Project Leaders provided project management services throughout the 5-year timeline.
