Net Zero Energy project on historic campus.

Colliers Project Leaders provided project management services for the Center for Development Economics (CDE) Residence Hall Project at Williams College. The residence hall has been designed to achieve Net Zero Energy certification.

The CDE is a two-story, 30 bed private room residence hall. This building houses the CDE Fellows who are enrolled in the Center for Development Economics master level program. The residence hall provides living space for the Fellows, which is private and separate from the main Saint Anthony Hall building which houses the academic, social, dining, and administrative components of the program.

Colliers’ responsibilities as project manager included:

  • Compiling a project communications plan
  • Participating in design reviews
  • Providing analysis and reconciliation of construction cost estimates
  • Providing value engineering and cost savings recommendations
  • Performing constructability review
  • Reviewing and providing analysis of construction schedules developed by the CM
  • Reviewing bid packages prepared by the CMR
  • Ensuring the procurement of all required permits for construction
  • Coordinating any move/relocation and assisting and managing FF&E selection/procurement process
  • Providing and implementing a quality control program throughout construction to ensure compliance with construction documents
