City of Airdrie residents are eagerly awaiting the soft opening of a new – and long anticipated – Inspire Library and Multi-Use facility on September 25. The 73,000 sq. ft. facility will serve as a hub for the city’s arts and cultural scene, offering shared multi-purpose rooms, office spaces and a public atrium, as well as expanded library services.
Inspire is part of the city’s commitment to leisure, recreation and culture for its rapidly growing population. The inclusive space is expected to attract both residents and visitors to Airdrie’s downtown core for classes, collaboration, community connection and events. In a final report delivered to Airdrie council, the project is on schedule and currently tracking at $4.5 million under budget.
Our local Colliers Project Leaders team began working with the city and its Inspire project team in 2021, providing support including functional programming, project planning, design firm procurement and project management services throughout construction. As the opening approaches, we are excited to see this adaptable and sustainable facility welcome visitors of all ages and abilities well into the future.
“On behalf of the entire organization, I’m just very grateful to Colliers Project Leaders, CANA, the design team of GGA, and the numerous municipal employees who were working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that this is a facility that will serve as a legacy in the community for years to come,” said Michelle Lock, Director of Community Services with the City of Airdrie.
