Today is the first day of National Indigenous History Month. Each year, we recognize and honour the history, heritage and resilience of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in Canada and all of their contributions – past and present.
This year, as part of our ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Colliers Project Leaders wants to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of Indigenous youth to their communities.
In summer 2023, we will award three Indigenous youths with a Community Builder Grant of $5,000 each to deploy towards their education, a community building project or a new business idea.
A panel of Indigenous community leaders from across Canada will review nominations and recommend a recipient based on information provided in the nomination form below. The panel is seeking nominations for eligible youths. The award will:
- Help celebrate and acknowledge their existing contributions to community-building;
- Empower and enable them to pursue ongoing community leadership activities;
- Motivate and inspire other Indigenous youth community leaders by sharing their path and story.
Eligibility: The grant is open to self-identified Indigenous youths residing in Canada between the ages of 13-30.
Nomination deadline: July 7, 2023
We want to hear your inspiring ideas for building community! Self-nominate or nominate on someone else’s behalf with our Nomination Form.
