The University of Victoria’s new Student Housing and Dining Project is in its second year of construction!
UVic’s new housing and dining facilities is one of the biggest Passive House projects in the province. The superstructure, including mass timber podium levels, is nearing completion on the first building, and the building envelope and interior trades have mobilized. On the second building, foundations and level one vertical concrete is in progress. The first building will open in September 2022, with the second building following in spring 2023.
The buildings will provide much-needed housing and a dining facility for over 600 students who are currently living off campus. Built to LEED Gold and Passive House environmental standards, the facility will support university, as well as provincial, sustainability goals.
