We are pleased to share that Lakeridge Health’s long-term care home, Lakeridge Gardens, received the Captial Project Award from AdvantAge Ontario.
The award, presented by Jamie Cook, Director of Healthcare at Colliers Project Leaders, was presented to the Ajax-based organization on April 21. Built in partnership with Infrastructure Ontario using a design-build delivery model, the 320-bed facility offers much-needed long-term care capacity for the Durham Region.
Incorporating best practices in infection prevention and control, Lakeridge Gardens features resident rooms that are single sleeping areas, which supports admissions and integration; ceiling tracks to promote safe mobility; bariatric rooms to address the needs of a marginalized group; an enclosed interior courtyard; a state-of-the-art heating and cooling system that enables both onsite and offsite monitoring; and a 9-bed dialysis unit, which allows residents to be treated on-site while providing care close-to-home for those in the community.
We applaud Lakeridge Gardens for its innovative approach to this project, which the community will enjoy for years to come.
