The City of North Bay has approved a $2.6 million contract to bring the new North Bay Community and Recreation Centre back to life. The city previously paused the project last year due to budget constraints and rising costs. The council is now proceeding with a revised project budget, which includes $26 million in federal funding secured under a Progressive Design-Build delivery model.
The new recreation centre, which will replace the city’s existing West Ferris Arena, is expected to have the following updated amenities: two standard hockey rinks, a walk-run track, a community room and meeting space, and many more exciting features. North Bay residents will benefit from these amenities, which support a resilient, diversified and inclusive economy.
Our team is providing the city with advisory services for the new recreation centre, including supporting it through the Progressive Design-Build delivery model process.
