The Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex (SARC) Desjardins Gym officially opened its doors this month. Staff and community members marked the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a host of celebratory activities, including drop-in sports, kids’ crafts and mosaic tile painting.
The community centre already houses two ice rinks, three pools and meeting rooms. The new gym provides additional and much-needed capacity for indoor and outdoor sports programming. The full renovation, which includes an expanded administration space, a new customer service area, a universal washroom, and a retrofitted preschool room with a folding partition for multi-purpose use, is now providing the community with a more user-friendly experience that promotes fitness, sports and healthy living.
Our Colliers Project Leaders team proudly supported the Town of Aurora with project management services for the SARC, from design through to construction. Deepu Balaraman, Les Camm, and Mark Haddock attended the opening to help celebrate this critical community milestone.
