Congratulations to Vancouver Community College (VCC) for breaking ground on its Centre for Clean Energy and Automotive Innovation (CCEAI). This highly-anticipated project will revitalize the VCC campus and transform the Broadway and Great Northern Way corridor for surrounding communities.

The new CCEAI design blends concrete and mass-timber materials, creating an interesting juxtaposition between nature and the built environment. The $291.3 million state-of-the-art facility will provide teaching spaces and enable students to engage in learning on clean energy fields.

This important community project also reflects VCC’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. The building will tell the story of the local Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations and the Coast Salish people through its interior and exterior design. Recognizing and respecting Indigenous customs, a Ground Blessing ceremony was also held earlier this year to bless and prepare the lands.

Our local Colliers Project Leaders team is providing project management services to help ensure the successful delivery of the CCEAI in partnership with VCC. We look forward to supporting VCC throughout the construction of this innovative facility as it reaches upcoming milestones.
