Congratulations to Northwest Angle #33 First Nation, which celebrated the official opening of its new water treatment plant in July. The water treatment project marks a significant milestone, providing 100 community residents with access to safe, clean drinking water and ending long-term water advisories

“Access to clean water is essential for us all,” said Chief Darlene Comegan. “While we had to overcome a number of challenges to complete this new water treatment plant, this project secures clean and reliable drinking water for our Angle Inlet community now and for years to come.”

During the project, our Colliers Project Leaders team helped the first nation established a centralized drinking water system that includes a state-of-the-art water treatment plant and distribution lines. In addition, we supported the implementation of individual decentralized systems that ensure community members not serviced by the central system can access clean drinking water.

We also worked with Northwest Angle #33 First Nation on other infrastructure related projects, including a feasibility study for an all-season road, and a septic field assessment to identify failing or near-failing systems in the community.

The following stakeholders combined their efforts to make the successful completion of the project possible: Northwest Angle #33 Chief and Council, JR Cousin Consultants, AKRC Tribal Council, and Penn-Co Construction.
