Members of our Infrastructure Advisory team recently presented an update on a Master Plan for Victoria Manor, the City of Kawartha Lakes’ long-term care home. The Master Plan will guide the city’s investment decisions for the rest of the facility’s useful life and help it assess options for continuity of service.

Completed work to date includes an asset inventory, a facility condition assessment, capital cost forecasting, a maintenance program and a property appraisal. Our team also initiated an online public survey to gather input on Victor Manor’s current service levels and how it could best meet future community needs.

Cheryl Faber, the city’s Director of Human Services, commented, “Victoria Manor is such an important asset to us, for our residents, their families, our staff and of course our community. We’re committed to extending the life of the building for as long as is feasible to continue to provide quality care and service delivery, while planning ahead to the time when it needs to be replaced.”

The project group is on track to complete the Master Plan on time, with the draft to be submitted for review by August, and the final by September 2023.
