Collingwood City Council is reviewing a phase three feasibility study this month for a new arts and culture centre, completed by Colliers Project Leaders’ advisors.

Following in-depth analysis, our team put forward two recommended options for the facility location. The first option is a 107,974 sq. ft. standalone building at 101 Pine Street, while the second option includes the Pine Street building as well as a secondary building at 84 Hurontario Street connected by a skywalk bridge for a total of 128,522 sq. ft. The secondary building would offer main street frontage, incorporating community programming space and housing a gallery, restaurant and tourism centre.

Our team also recommended that Council wait until its downtown visioning exercise is complete before making any final decisions.

Following a committee meeting in early July, Council did postpone its decision for Phase Three until the release of its Downtown Visioning Master Plan. The visioning plan will inform the future development of transit and community spaces.

We look forward to the release of Collingwood’s Downtown Visioning Master Plan in September 2024.
