Millbrook First Nation recently secured funding for its Dartmouth Solar Power Generation Project. The Indigenous-led, First Nation majority-owned initiative will transform unused tank lots at the former Imperial refinery site to generate clean electricity for the Nova Scotia Power grid. The 8-megawatt solar farm is expected to help offset fossil fuel-based electricity and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Natural Resources Canada recently announced $16 million in federal funding for clean energy projects across the Maritimes. The Dartmouth Solar Power Generation Project is supported by the Indigenous Natural Resource Partnerships (INRP) program, which aims to increase the economic participation of Indigenous communities and organizations in the development of natural resource projects and the transition to clean energy sources.

As a long-standing partner, we are proud to support Millbrook First Nation as a Project Manager and Commercial/Financial Advisor. As the project moves forward, we remain committed to supporting its progress—bringing this important clean energy initiative one step closer to reality.
