Prince Edward County Council continues to advance plans to build a new long-term care (LTC) home with the recent approval of a $67.1 million construction tender.

Since the closure of the Picton Manor Nursing Home in 2012, the County has been working to add more long-term care beds to serve the community. The new, municipally-owned facility will replace an existing LTC home originally built in 1976 that, while well-maintained, is no longer able to meet provincial standards.

The County engaged our Colliers Project Leaders team to provide project management services for the home, including managing costs, ensuring adherence to construction timelines, and minimizing project risks. This critical work will augment staff engagement during the construction phase of the project.

The County will launch a communications campaign to update the public on each stage of the project, including an upcoming groundbreaking ceremony in 2025.
