The City of Thunder Bay’s Reimagine Victoriaville project is advancing to a second phase with the launch of a project team to explore revitalization designs for Victoria and Syndicate avenues, and the deconstruction of the Victoriaville Centre. The city plans to build two new public plazas in addition to upgrading underground watermains and storm sewer systems.

Once complete, the area will be transformed into a dynamic corridor that safely integrates pedestrians, cyclists and drivers with vibrant public and inclusive spaces.

“This project is about more than removing an aging structure; it’s about enhancing the vitality in our downtown, improving infrastructure, and creating a space for everyone,” said Aaron Ward, Manager of Engineering at the City of Thunder Bay. “Collaboration has been key to building a foundation for a revitalized downtown.”

Construction is slated to begin this spring, with substantial completion expected in the fall of 2026. The city engaged Colliers Project Leaders as the project manager to lead the revitalization, working alongside KGS Group, Scatliff + Miller + Murray, i4 Architecture, and Sever Lupu.
